I.P. no. 62.210.181.15..... NOW I UNDERSTAND!

N.B. The following post was written on the 14th December 2014. Now it is February2015, I.P. number 62.210.181.15 is no longer showing up in my own Blogger stats and the links in this post will no longer  work, so I hoped that the proxy server might no longer be in existence.

There is however still a steady stream of people coming to this blog seeking information about I.P. number 62.210.181.15, so so I assume that the proxy server has merely been changed in some way so that it is generating different links. I have not however seen the links myself, so am only guessing! Perhaps one of my visitors would be kind enough to explain to me what is going on!

Anyway, here follows my explanation of the situation as I saw it last December: -

At long last I think I now understand what is going on here!

There is no great mystery about I.P. no. 62.210.181.15. It simply relates to an unregistered proxy. That means that you or I or absolutely anybody can use it to surf the net anonymously. The way to surf the internet anonymously via this I.P. number is to quite simply takehttp://62.210.181.15:3130/get?url=http%3A%2F%2F and then add the address of whichever website you want to look at (remember to remove the http:// bit from the start of the address though). Put the resulting url into your browser, click enter and you are viewing the site anonymously via the proxy number.

So, if I take a random url such as http://www.boxingnewsonline.net
I can view it anonymously via the proxy by putting

Many places such as schools or workplaces block people from surfing sites such as Blogger or Facebook for obvious reasons...... so people wanting to access the blocked sites use a proxy to bypass the block and get to look at the sites they want to.

It is actually Feedjit which is to blame for most of the confusion for us bloggers here. If a blogger who has Feedjit installed on their blog spots a strange version of one of their pages beginning with 62.210.181.15 in their Blogger stats - and subsequently clicks on the link to it in order to find out what on earth is going on - they are taken to their own post via the proxy number. They then notice that the only thing different from the 'normal' version of their post is the traffic in the Feedjit widget in which are shown all the other bloggers who have also clicked on the proxy version of their own posts. This is because Feedjit registers that it is installed on a blog at an address beginning with 62.210.181.15 and automatically creates a new feed for a blog called '62.210.181.15'. The confused bloggers then click.on each other's posts in Feedjit..... and we all end up getting more and more confused!

If anyone has any questions, please ask me. If I do not know the answer, then I will certainly try to find out! It is all very simple really. Finding the simple answer has not actually proved to be at all simple though.... although we got there in the end! :-)

As for http://www.linksmediablog.blogspot.co.uk which has lots of links to sites beginning with 62.210.181.15, I have no idea why the addresses of the links viewed via the proxy number have been added there. If you want to make a list of links, why not add the 'normal' url, rather than the proxy one? I would guess that Amin who owns the linksmedia site uses the proxy number himself to view the sites and then just copies the url onto his blog. Perhaps he himself does not understand exactly what the url means, or how to get the 'normal' url from it. If he comes back here again, perhaps he will tell us himself!
